i’m gonna be honest – i RARELY (almost never) go to bars in downtown LA. partially because i live in hollywood so i can walk to about 8,234,555 bars, and because DTLA kind of scares me at night. i took the red line train to this bar and after about 10 minutes of walking through a lot of sketchiness – i arrived. as soon as i walked in i immediately forgot about all the sketchiness i’d just experienced! the bar is dimly lit, small, and cozy. the music is AWESOME!! the decor is beautiful, and the bartenders are really friendly! for a bar in LA, let alone DTLA.. the drinks weren’t too expensive. and my stoli vanilla + diet was delish. i’m really glad kelsi chose this spot as the venue for the LAFW 2.0 party! i’m always excited discovering a new bar in this city. definitely worth checking out!

Awesome photos! Love the dark, moody atmosphere of the bar. Does indeed make me want to go, if I wasn’t too cheap! How were drink prices?

And don’t write off downtown LA yet! There are actually many hidden gems there. There’s also a warehouse-type place called Lost Souls that’s really awesome if you’re looking for some coffee. There’s also a place called the Nickel Diner that Matthew and I want to try after seeing it on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives… they’re supposed to have awesome mac ‘n cheese (smack ‘n cheese, they call it), and bacon donuts.

The drink prices weren’t bad! My drink was $8, and for a vodka cocktail that’s not a WELL vodka – it seems pretty reasonable to me. I’m definitely warming up to DTLA, I think I need to visit more in the daytime though haha. :)
